After immigrating to Canada, Albert completed the licensing exams with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario as well as the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario.

- Albert earned his medical (MD) degree in 1980’s and had 3 years postgraduate training in rehabilitation medicine in Shanghai Medical University, Shanghai, China.
- In 1984 he continued his training in Shiatsu, Tui Na and Acupuncture at Long Hua Hospital, Shanghai, China.
- In 1990 he received his certifications in Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Tui Na at Shanghai Medical University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
- Albert also spent 2 years as a visiting scholar at the University of Waterloo in 1991.
